Bruce Blakeman is trying to replace your negotiated health insurance with a subpar insurance plan behind your back. And he wants you to believe it’s CSEA’s fault.

Without informing CSEA, Blakeman ordered the removal of our Nassau County CSEA members from NYSHIP and plans to force us into a high-deductible plan that doesn’t meet the requirements of our contract.

CSEA Statewide President Mary Sullivan, CSEA Long Island Region President Jarvis Brown, CSEA Nassau County Local 830, and the CSEA Legal and Political Action Departments are holding the County to its responsibility to maintain our coverage, and ensuring that it is the quality health care that we are contractually entitled to.

We have your back. Now Blakeman needs to hear your voice. Call 516-571-3131 or 516-571-4044 to tell Blakeman “Stop Playing Games with our Healthcare.”

CSEA Local 830: We Are Nassau Strong

CSEA Local 830 is the 2nd largest Local in the Statewide family. With a membership 8,000 strong, we take pride in protecting our members' jobs, assisting our members, and working in cooperation with local government officials and Nassau County employers. As a public union, Local 830 works within the guidelines of the New York State Taylor law.

Our members represent a wide variety of county occupations, including the total civilian County workforce and the entire staff working at the Nassau Health Care Corporation. Our members proudly serve Nassau County residents and provide nearly every civilian county service imaginable.

CSEA Local 830 officers and administrative staff perform a variety of duties on behalf of our members. We are actively involved in addressing member concerns, meeting with government officials to discuss union issues, contacting Union employers, negotiating Union contracts, and securing additional benefits for our members on a regular basis.

CSEA LOCAL 830 - NASSAU STRONG

  • Inclusiveness: Every group, every idea is welcomed.

  • Full Participation: We encourage and expect full participation in all union matters.

  • Respect: We respect each other and honor our differences.

  • Diversity: We celebrate our diversity and use it to strengthen us.

  • Open Communications: We listen and provide for open communication across all parts of our union and in all directions.

  • Accountability: We are accountable for our actions and decisions.

  • Fiscal Responsibility: We conduct our business in a fiscally sound manner.

As a labor union, we are committed to union democracy and we follow these values with integrity!
